PhD position


The successful candidate will assist in tasks to be carried out within the scope of the WEAM project, whose main objective is to develop a strategy for monitoring the noise produced in farms of wave energy converters. During the first 6 months, the successful candidate will be dealing with acoustic predictions in order to establish specifications of a noise monitoring plan. After that initial period he will be responsible for processing the acoustic data collected during sea trials foreseen for the second project year with the objective of inferring noise characteristics, and his work will be extended to problems dealing with acoustic environmental inversion for site characterization.

Applicants must have a degree in electrical engineering, physics, or applied mathematics. It is essential to have the ability to program in MATLAB, C/C++, or Fortran, and good written and briefing skills in English. The research work developed under this fellowship may be used for obtaining a (PhD) degree.
